Yacht Tayacu is a beautiful custom-built yacht used exclusively for fishing adventures in the northern Brazilian Amazon watershed. The yacht is 80 feet long and 16 feet wide. It is based out of Barcelos, Brazil, the tropical fish capital of the world. The yacht was designed with comfort in mind, handling 10 anglers per trip. Yacht Tayacu can travel to many locations in remote tributary rivers where most other yachts and motherships cannot, as its sleek hull design possesses only a 34 inch draft. While other boats might be deterred by shallow bars that are, seemingly, impossible to navigate over, Yacht Tayacu can and will outdistance the competition.

Five staterooms are fully air conditioned and offer private bathrooms and showers, two rooms are queen size style beds and have more space to store your personal belongings. The dining room is also fully air conditioned with TV. The decks are provided with two big showers, a bar and resting chairs for your comfort.
The fishing boats are 18- feet long, have stabile raised casting decks, swivel seats, new 50-HP Suzuki 4-stroke outboards and electric trolling motors. These boats can cruise over

shallow sandbars and flats and get you into places that other, heavier, fiberglass boats cannot reach. The fishing boats are fully equipped aluminum boats with outboard engines, life jackets, first-aid kits, VHF radios, GPS unit and a cooler for food, cold drinks and snacks. Yacht Tayacu also possesses a satellite phone (www.globalstar.com). In addition, we have a notebook computer on board for photo storage and DVD recordings of our clients.

Captain and owner Marlon do Carmo Otero will be aboard Yacht Tayacu for every fishing trip. The personable Brazilian native and his crew offer more than 10 years of experience with clients from throughout the globe. Marlon was actually born on the banks of the Arirarrá river (a Rio Negro tributary). By necessity, when he was a boy, Marlon and his brothers had to learn the behavior of the mighty peacock bass and the best places to fish for them to help feed their family. Fortunately, today Marlon hunts for trophy peacock bass not for the table, but for his clients to catch and release.
